You Face

Finding a therapist who is in-network can be difficult, and many people choose to pay out of pocket. Privacy is also a consideration: when care is billed through insurance, a claim and an explanation of benefits are generated, and an EOB may be mailed to the policyholder — which, for someone on a spouse’s or parent’s plan, can reveal that they are receiving care. Paying directly avoids generating those insurer records for that payment.
